PulpTunes ? Let You Access Your iTunes Anywhere - Technology - Information Technology

We all know that our iDevices like iPod, iPhone, and iPad only match iTunes in our own computers, so it's not convenient if we want to buy something or download something in iTunes when we are outside without our computers, but there is one thing can fix that problem for us - pulpTunes.

No matter where you are, in the office, or at your friends' party, you can access your iTunes easily and you can let your friends hear what you get in your iTunes with pulpTunes, as long as you have Internet collection. Except this tool, there are lots of gadgets can help you make the most of your iDevices like your iPod, for example, if you want, you can transfer your playlists from ipod to computer, it will help you backup your files that you don't want to lose. Same with pulpTunes, although it has different functions, but they are all good for you.

To download pulpTunes simply go to the pulpTunes website and click the Download Now button to being downloading the application. The file that will be downloaded is a zip file so expand it then open up the application named pulpTunes in the folder that is created. The first time you start up the application a window similar to the one pictured below will be displayed. This is telling you how to access the library within your browser and to open port 15000 on your firewall so that you can access your library from outside your network.

Once you've opened the port, a visit to youripaddress:15000/.com will load a screen like the one shown above, populated by your music collection. PulpTunes runs wide open by default, so we'd suggest going into the User Management menu and enabling a username and password. You can access your iTunes playlists on the left hand side, search through your music collection, or drill down through your collection by genre, artist, and album. The buffer adjustment feature is handy, allowing you to tweak the amount of playtime that will be buffered based on your network speed. PulpTunes is open source and available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Here is what it can do.

1.Added support for automatic router configuration for Apple routers (through Bonjour protocol);

2.Allow search through the URL so you can use the firefox bookmark keyword feature.

3.Added ability to select initial playlist, in Settings.

4.Added ability to have the Shuffle or Repeat buttons be enabled from the start, in Settings. With this you'll be able to listen to a random song each time you enter pulpTunes.

5.Added button to clear iTunes DJ playlist.

Once we have any iDevices, we all are eager to know how to operate them with excitement, imagine the time you own an iPad 2, I guess the first thing you want to do is figure out how to sync ipad 2, it's the premise for everything, so if you know more information or more third-party tools, you can operate your iDevices more handily.
